It would have taken a lot for it to happen when we were adults—we both had so much baggage. But if I'd joined the X-Men instead of the Avengers when we were younger? I think it could have happened.

Because I was less set in my ways then, and I was lonely. I probably would have tried to seduce you like I did here, only more much awkwardly and angrily.

I’ve been set in my ways since I was, oh I don’t know, thirteen. But back then I was more open to feelings. I was better at talking about them. Back then I even flirted, so maybe it could have happened. I’ve been trying to figure out if it could have happened too, especially knowing what we know now. Especially since we’re so like who we were then. Fundamentally.

To be honest, I probably also would've gone for you because you'd have been the choice to most piss off Magneto. But it's nice to think that it might've worked out in the end.

I just keep thinking how much Charles would want me to make sure you felt comfortable and part of the family/team. So, the other side of that coin.
