He's good. He's buying geeky little chess pieces that look like X-Men and other people we know if our old lives. It's weird and cute, like him.

I kind of meant us being a couple, but I got you.

Yeah, that’s weird. I get jealous even though I’m not interested, and I don’t like that jealousy. And I don’t get your life, and so probably we know very different Scotts. And I’m never going to be who he wants me to be. And where I’m from, we were just definitely going to fall in love, but where you’re from we were married or whatever, and I died on him or whatever. And I don’t know how to navigate that. It’s overwhelming and confusing and upsetting. For both of us probably. So it’s not even that he’s with you, it’s just that we know each other in ways and feel things for each other that don’t even match. I don’t know what to do about it.

I really feel you, to some extent. I'm going through some of that with Dani, who feels so much like my sister sometimes and not at all the rest of the time. It's a mind fuck and a hard one, and I'm sorry it's happening at all to any of us.

I don't know if there's a way to make it better. I'm not going to look at Dani and not almost see my Wanda. And you're not going to look at Sam and not think of your Scott.

But sometimes it's good to have extra incentive to make the most of a fresh start. Maybe you wouldn't have this connection with Dani if Scott had been your Scott.
